On this week's episode of Walsh Wednesday, we speak with Jaime Hyla, the CEO of Community Family Development. With the end of summer and the beginning of back-to-school season, there's a lot to talk about in the realm of childcare. Jaime and I breakdown some of the stigmas and misconceptions around childcare assistance programs, and how CFD is giving aid to the community.

"Founded in 1967, Community Family Development (CFD) is one of the largest nonprofit childcare centers in Dutchess County, providing high-quality early childhood education and care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Serving nearly 100 children year-round, we are committed to making affordable, accessible childcare available to families throughout the City of Poughkeepsie and surrounding communities.
For more than five decades, CFD has partnered with families to foster children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. Our experienced educators deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences that prepare children for success in school and in life, while our comprehensive family support services help strengthen the entire family. At CFD, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive, and we are proud to be a trusted community resource for generations of local families."
